Clinical Nurse Manager
Franciscan Healthcare is looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager to oversee and coordinate nursing staff, charge nurses, and coordinators within the Obstetrics (OB), Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg), and Emergency Room (ER) departments. This role ensures high-quality patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and efficient staff management while fostering a positive and professional work environment.
This is a full-time exempt position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision & Support:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to charge nurses and coordinators in OB, Med-Surg, and ER.
- Oversee that staffing levels based on patient acuity and departmental needs are met.
- Foster relationships and mentor staff to ensure a healthy work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice in patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical performance to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of safety and quality improvement and program initiatives.
- Operational Management:
- Develop and execute the department’s strategic plan that aligns with organizational goals.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure financial sustainability and optimal resource utilization.
- Address and resolve operational challenges in real-time to maintain efficiency.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between nurses, patients, coordinators, charge nursers, and all other leadership across all departments.
- Facilitate regular meetings with charge nurses to discuss continuity of communication and best practices.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Patient & Family Advocacy:
- Ensure that patients receive compassionate and high-quality care.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.
- Advocate for patient-centered care practices and ethical decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in OB, Med-Surg, and/or ER settings strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound clinical and administrative decisions in a fast-paced environment.
