Occupational Therapist

Franciscan Healthcare is looking for an Occupational Therapist to carry out an individualized program of occupational therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. This position will provide services in the following settings: Primarily pediatrics and lymphadema in addition to outpatient, inpatient, nursing home, home health and local schools.

Hours: 32 hours per week with weekend and holiday rotation

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, refer, screen, evaluate, carry out, and discharge patient’s treatment program in coordination with other medical professional involved in the patients care.
  • Administer treatment program per physician instructions.
  • Offer effective communication to patients regarding treatment plan, education on condition, necessary precautions and discharge goals.
  • Provide quality services to all patient we treat.
  • Complete documentation within the respective EMR based on the entity which treatment was performed.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduated from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in Nebraska
  • Certified lymphedema therapist (CLT), or willingness to obtain
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledgeable of EMR systems (Cerner, OptimisPT, NetHealth and Matrix Care). If previously experience is not had, capable of learning functions within each system

  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to organize workload according to priorities and assess situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to record information accurately and follow instructions precisely
  • Interpersonal skills, specifically courtesy and tact in order to communicate effectively
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time; May be on feet for most of the shift
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs; if weight to be lifted exceeds 35 lbs., assistive devices should be used
