Purchasing & Central Supply Clerk

Franciscan Healthcare is looking for a Purchasing & Central Supply Clerk to procure, process and distribute materials and services including ensuring that supplies and equipment are received, stocked, stored, and issued to maintain stocking levels and system accuracy. Deliver supplies throughout the organization and maintain the Central Supply Storeroom in a clean, organized, and functional condition.

Hours: Minimum 35 hours/week typically Monday-Friday with weekend rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Places purchase orders, enters receipts and completes purchase orders
  • Verifies all packing slips against purchase orders, enters receipts and compares invoices
  • Coordinates product returns with vendor and prepares items for return shipment
  • Obtains information, sets up demonstrations and/or trials regarding the purchase of Capital and Minor Equipment
  • Labels and stocks CS inventory throughout the facility.
  • Unpack and process freight, check supplies and report discrepancies in orders to the Purchasing Agent.
  • Delivers supplies and equipment to user departments in a sterile, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Collects patient charges for processing and submits to the Materials Office.
  • Issue items after filling requisitions using the Supply Chain System to maintain PAR for each location.
  • Perform and assist with all duties associated with Year End Physical Inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Graduate.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
  • Previous inventory control experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.

  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively
  • Requires full range of body motion with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Pushing and pulling of heavy objects around the facility using carts, dollies, and pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and carry 15-35 lbs. frequently, 35-50 lbs. occasionally, using proper body mechanics and requesting team lift assistance when items exceed 50 lb. weight limit.
  • Ability to change from one duty to another frequently
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet unit needs
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions exactly
  • Ability to use computer for documentation
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and repetitive motions
